Personal goals center on helping people of all ages to find fulfillment through discovering their life purpose. Explore a variety of health, creative and life style approaches to help remove the blocks to living a loving and satisfying life. Place a high priority on collaborative / cooperative efforts to motivate human beings in living their life purpose.

 

Professional Positions

 April 2005 - Present: Self-Employed: Smooth Yoga & Massage (Conway, AR.) Perform massages on clients in North & Central Arkansas (independent contactor with Kreationz Spa in Conway) Offer on site massages, seminars, and personal health consultations with area businesses.  Teach Continuing Education seminars for annual massage license renewal offering a seminar I designed in 1994 titled: Breath.Movement.Sound.Touch seminar. This year, 94 therapists from 35 cities around Arkansas attended this key professional seminar! Traveled to Florida 3 times to offer my seminar to massage therapists in a Destin school.

Nov. 2004 – March 2005, Yoga Instructor -Yoga for Life/Ozark Yoga Alliance – Tecumseh, MO.
Substitute teach yoga classes, do record keeping, and perform PR for additional students. Taught 6 – 8 classes per week, and traveled upwards of 50 miles to do so.

Also, offered extra curricular activities such as: drumming, drawing, and arts and crafts.

 

Education And Training

 

Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance @ 500 hour level. Qualified to instruct would-be yoga teachers in the art of yoga instruction. Received yoga training at the Ananda Marga Retreat Intensive Training Center in Philadelphia in 1974 (this center now located in Los Altos Hills, CA.) This was a 4 1/2 month residential and internship program involving sutras, asanas, pranayamas, Aikido, service work, 4 daily meditations, and yoga psychology.

Licensed Massage Therapist (Jun 01, 1987 - Oct 01, 1987) Natural Healing Institute, Encinitas, CA
Was trained in numerous modalities of therapeutic massage, and the healing arts such as: Swedish, Traegar approach, acupressure, Shiatsu, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and record keeping. Took state board exam and have been licensed every year since through 2004.

Received a bachelors degree in the degree program called: Interpersonal & Organizational Communication, which included a wide variety of courses in communication, counseling, statistics, developing research surveys, intercultural communication, etc.
 

Certificates of Attendance (1976 - 1979) Arkansas Office on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention, Little Rock, AR Attended over 100 hours in counseling, and intervention techniques for helping people with alcohol and drug abuse problems, as well as family issues.

Interests and Hobbies
 

Have been a practicing free lance artist and writer for 20 + years (1980 - 2004) Developed two art styles called: "Pictures of Health & energetic drawings" for helping people become more whole individuals through accessing their innate creativity & tapping into their subtle energy field. 

Participate in community drum circles, and interact with other musicians whenever possible. Play music, sing & dance on a daily basis.

Prepare fruit smoothies, and bake muffins both for personal use, and have sold the latter commercially.  Love cats, birds, and all of the plant kingdom.
