Pictures of Health
True Alisandre, Massage and
Movement Therapist
We
all have the "Perfect Picture of Health" within us! It’s in the memory
of our DNA and all our bodies’ homeostatic or balancing mechanisms are
set up to take us to this place of complete peace & tranquility.
However, in our busy, "out-of-synch-with-time" world, we may find out
that our natural checks and balances aren’t operating quite
efficiently. This leaves our ‘picture of health’ temporarily elusive to
us. We begin seeing our Self & cells more as dysfunctional, aging,
and limited in scope.
In this instance, we are required to recalibrate our body & mind to
function in harmony with their natural processes. One way to achieve
this is to visualize a symbol or something from nature, which we
associate with a healthy self or health-promoting lifestyle.
It could be as simple as a palm tree, a rose, some running water, or an
ancient symbol like the cross or a circle inscribed with some lines.
We can even design our own personal heal-thy self-picture to
restore us to harmony. Doodling is an easy way to do this, and express
in some line drawing what represents our "healthiest view of our self."
We could choose to identify with how our Creator views us as we do
this, and really enhance the creative process. These spontaneously
formed lines, may not only give us a representative "picture of our
health," but also communicate to us some new health program or
lifestyle we could embark on.
In a world where we think so much is elusive, our health needn’t be. We
are the "captain of our life ship," and can choose to revamp our whole
way of life any time we want. With a visual goal in mind of what we’re
striving for, it can be a lot easier to motivate our self, and
actualize a much greater degree of vim, vigor, and vitality in a very
short time.
Shown with this essay are some of my spontaneous drawings over the past
few years, so that you can see how simple and quick this practice is.
If you’d like to send us some of yours, we’d be happy to review them
for posting on this site. Remember, next time you casually say: "You’re
the picture of health," that this statement has incredible
significance for all of us here on Earth.
