       Full Circle Breath Stretch

Touching fingertips (backs of hands together) to your heart, begin slowly expanding your arms out in front making a circle with your middle fingers connecting. Feel your lungs filling fully as you form this

"sacred arm circle."

Here's a short song that can be hummed or chanted as you do this:

I create this circle of love to include everyone

In my mind I see all humanity flowing & having fun!

Now, exhale as your palms fold together in prayer pose ( Namaste') and bring them back to your heart again, and bow your head.  Affirm inwardly: "The circle of life will never be broken, and I respect all life everywhere." Do this 3 times, slowing it down more and more, and going within deeper and deeper to the Source of all life, the Eternal Spirit.

Another Song to accompany the above ending gesture is:

Coming together, my hands join and I'm pleased

As I let go with an exhaling sigh of relief

And with the "Greatest of Ease" in my heart!

Balancing & Standing Yoga Asana's (postures comfortably held!)

Standing Tree Pose

The standing tree pose of yoga, gives a feeling of groundedness and balance that many of us hectic Westerners desperately need. By standing relaxed and staying rooted in this pose, with ones eyes gazing at a single point, we learn to pause, bending in the breeze like the trees, and choose more stabilizing movements as well.

In the half-moon pose, we bend to each side, with one arm stretched over our head, and the other dangling at our side, this really opens our rib cage and lets us bend and flow with ease as we motivate our cells through a day on the gravity-rich Earth.

King Dancer

The king dancer pose is a one legged balancing pose with one leg held bent behind us with the same side arm, and the other arm outstretched in front. Here we are given the feeling of directing our body and mind like an arrow toward a target or goal we aspire toward in life.

The downward facing dog is one of the most excellent postures for simultaneously elongating the leg muscles and tendons, the whole spine, and arm tissues as well. The dog pose is a basic position out of which other standing or floor poses can emerge in a very flowing, and connected manner.

Downward Facing Dog

As one yoga position flows into another, we can sometimes get the rare feeling that our movements are an exquisitely graceful dance. This transfers to everyday life, and driving of our cars, or work at the computer becomes more soothing, and less stressful.

Combining a series of 8 – 10 yoga poses or asanas puts a fine-tuning on our body-mind instrument and enables us to sing our song,’ and express our dance of life for all the world to see! Vibrantly moving with this new attitude gives a beautiful meaning to our lives.
